Recently, this reporter reached out to the Acton-Boxborough spring sports coaches for their outlook on the new season. Here are the thoughts of softball coach Kara O’Riley.
“We are very excited to begin the 2025 softball season. We have eleven varsity players returning to the roster and one new freshman who is a fantastic addition to our squad. We have a very competitive schedule ahead of us this year, and we are looking forward to playing the other teams in the Dual County League. Our players have been working hard every day to prepare for the upcoming season and we are ready to kick it off! I look forward to seeing the successes that this team has in store for them, both large and small. I am proud of their dedication and their willingness to do whatever it takes to get better, especially in how well they work together. They push each other to improve and are a very coachable group. My assistant coaches and I are thrilled to work with this group of talented players.”
“Hannah, one of our seniors, has decided to attend UNH. We are so excited to see the big things that she will accomplish there. Another of our seniors, Shay, is attending my alma mater, Salve Regina University. As her coach, I am very excited to see her follow in my footsteps but I am also so happy that she will get to discover the beauty that Newport, RI has to offer. Additionally, we have two seniors who are finalizing their plans but we know they will also enjoy so much success. I will provide updates as they make their decisions.”
