The Acton Exchange editorial team is taking a week off. Today’s issue will be the last one in June. The next issue will be published around July 5. We hope you had and have good celebrations on Juneteenth and July 4. Send us your pictures and stories!

This is a reminder that our submission deadlines are Tuesday noon for articles (to editors@actonexchange.org) and Tuesday at 5 p.m. for letters (to letters@actonexchange.org). And, of course, we can use all the volunteers we can get for writing and editing our town paper. Our few volunteer writers can’t be everywhere, but together we can cover the town. It’s sort of like photographing the black hole at the center of our galaxy. There’s no one telescope (read: journalist) big enough to see it alone, but by combining images of many telescopes worldwide, we get a photograph (read: coverage).

If it happened, it’s newsworthy. If it’s going on, people want to know about it. If it’s new, it’s news! Even if it’s old, it can be news, but that’s another story.

Franny Osman is Editor-in-Chief of the Acton Exchange.
