Late in the day on March 11 the Twin Seafood signs came down in West Acton. The next day, The Acton Seafood Company opened for business with a trio of new owners: Dean Gaudet and Sarah and Daniel Gauvin. All three had worked for John Loblundo, the owner of Twin Seafoods, since 2011. When John retired, he entertained several offers but ultimately decided to sell to his employees rather than to an ownership group unfamiliar to the restaurant and the community.

The inside of the store is freshening up with a new coat of light gray paint. A juggling of coolers will result in more seating indoors with a capacity nearing thirty. The large wooden deck now has eight blue eight-to-ten-person picnic tables; these will be replaced by tables of varying sizes to be more accommodating to smaller groups. But even with the changes, the new owners want to maintain the existing village atmosphere. Sarah says they want to keep the same feel as Twin Seafood “but with a modern twist, dusting it off a little bit, and giving it a polish.”
The new owners all have cooking experience. Sarah will concentrate on counter sales of take-out and eat-in meals, and market sales. Dean says that the most popular cooked entry is fish and chips followed by the Fisherman’s Platter (fish, scallops, clams, shrimp, fries and coleslaw). They also offer a variety of appetizers, grilled options with fish or chicken, sandwiches, burgers, and platters. The market has a wide array of fresh fish and shellfish.

The owners hope to begin catering in the near future. The website will be up soon.
