About one thousand concertgoers (a small fraction of the Independence Day concert) enjoyed perfect weather and a full moon as they watched the Pink Floyd tribute band Into the Floyd, and a full production laser light show, from the grassy hillside at NARA Park on July 19.
The Friday night series of tribute bands, hosted by the Acton Recreation Department and funded in-part through sponsorship and donations by many local businesses, will continue on July 26 with Who Are You,a tribute to the Who, featuring former Guess Who band member Carl Dixon; August 9 with Kashmir, A tribute to the spirit of Led Zeppelin Live, featuring Jean Violet; August 16 with Foreigner’s Journey, featuring American Idol Finalist Rudy Cardenas; and August 23 with River of Dreams, a tribute to Billy Joel. Advanced tickets are $20 and can be purchased via EventBrite, through the Acton Recreation website, or $25 at the gate beginning at 7:00 P.M. All of the above shows start at 8:00 P.M. Hot food, snacks, soft drinks, beer and wine are available for purchase.
For children, Mister Vicwill perform a free show 6:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 31. This year’s series will end on Friday, October 18 with Monsterbash 2024, running from 6:00-8:00, with a $5.00 admission.
