Acton Convenience changed hands. Ricardo Trindade sold his business on 465 Great Road in July to a company that operates out of Lowell. He still owns a store at 75 Great Road and he has named that location Great Road Convenience and a storefront sign is on order. The store is open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and features a newly remodeled deli open 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays only. This is the former location of Tedeschi’s and later 7-Eleven.

Long modern business with flat roof, a corral of supermarket carts, plate glass windows with colorful photographs of food in them, and a sign along the top: Mei Ya Asian Market, with Chinese characters as well.

Mei Ya Asian Market opened on 279 Great Road. The former store, Acton Asian Market, closed in May after a two-year run. The new store, according to Cece Chen, the manager, offers Taiwanese, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese foods including a section with prepared hot foods for takeout. The store opened in August and is continuing to add stock to their shelves.

Demolition continues at the Nagog Mall, now owned by the McGovern Auto Group, as they make way for a new automobile dealership. There will be a more in-depth article on this subject in a future Acton Exchange issue.
