On February 15, 2024 (snow date) the Town of Acton Recreation Department and Economic Development Office, and the Middlesex West Chamber of Commerce, hosted a local business appreciation luncheon at Acton Town Hall. “For the Love of our Local Businesses” was attended by about fifty Acton local businesses, including a number of new businesses, as well as non-profit organizations, town officials, and community partners. Maura Haberman, Acton Recreation Event and Program Coordinator, created the event to recognize sponsors and supporters of Acton Recreation’s NARA Park summer concerts and events. Haberman describes the 2024 event series in an Acton TV video. The luncheon also served as a networking event for local businesses to create collaborations and partnerships, said Julie Pierce, Director of Acton’s Economic and Community Development Office.

The event featured the Executive Director of the Mass Office of Travel & Tourism (MOTT), Kate Fox, who shared local business visibility tips and resources available through the new state office. Sheila Green, who is coordinating MOTT’s celebration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, provided information about marketing opportunities for local businesses for the historic anniversary.
