Senior Center holds vintage holiday tea party

The Acton Council on Aging (COA) held a Holiday Tea Party at the Senior Center on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024, and 70 seniors (aged 60 and over) celebrated the season in style. Acton’s Chief of Police Chief Jim Cogan, a 40-year veteran of the Acton force, also attended.

This year, the Vintage Tea and Cake Company catered the annual Holiday Tea Party. Seniors savored a delightful cup of Buckingham Palace Garden Party tea, accompanied by an assortment of tasty finger sandwiches, delicate mini pastries, and warm, classic scones served with clotted cream and jam.

On one table, there is a china teapot, china teacups, and a three-tiered tray filled with baked goods.

And the party was free of charge, thanks to a grant from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs, which works with the Acton COA to empower older adults to live safely, independently, and thrive in the way and place they choose.
