West Acton Village Holiday Stroll draws festive crowds

December 13, 2024

On the first Saturday of December, the Acton community comes together to explore various organizations across West Acton. Local businesses and organizations invite everyone to visit their locations throughout the day, making holiday shopping convenient and enjoyable.

This year’s West Acton Village Holiday Stroll featured a visit with Santa at Great Spaces on Arlington Street beside the Post Office. The AB Madrigals were also out caroling throughout the Village.

Members of the community could also bid on gift baskets at the West Acton Baptist Church as well as participate in a scavenger hunt and a wreath decorating contest. And they could watch a tree lighting ceremony on the lawn of the former Middlesex Bank.

Paul A. Swydan, the owner of The Silver Unicorn Bookstore, said, “We had a pretty epic day today at the West Acton Village Holiday Stroll. It all started with our kickoff story time with award-winning and bestselling author and illustrator, Aaron Becker. Aaron dazzled the kids in attendance, and some of them dazzled him right back! We have autographed copies on hand for those who weren’t able to join us.”

Following the community get-together, the West Acton Village Merchants Association announced that it had donated $1,000 to the Town of Acton for needy families this holiday season.
